About Me

My photo
I am a regular guy with a passion to know God and make Him known to the world. How can a man say they love people and let them walk away from him without telling them about Jesus and how he is the only way that we can get to heaven. Not by any good deeds we have done or how many times we have went to church. It is only by His Grace that we will be saved!

Uttering Things of Old!!

I have heard the things God has done. I beleive they are true. I hope that when I am teaching them to my children they don't think of them as fiction. I pray they see a life growing in the likeness of Christ transformed from the Word I read. Do I tell them of the wonders God has done and the power God has shown throughout my life and since the beginning of time? Do I teach the Law that I have been told to teach my children or am I slacking and not thinking of how important it will be for my grandchildren to hear the goodnews from their parents? I need to take more time in "story" telling with my children so that they will find it important to tell my grandchildren. The verse mentions the children yet to be born that is why I am thinking of grandchildren. Studying Gods word as a family needs to become more of a priorty in my home it is not just the job of youth group leaders and Sunday school teachers. I need a mens study for personal growth but my home is where I am to lead a study.

Psalm 78:1-8
1 O my people, hear my teaching, listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old-
3 what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our fore fathers to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
8 They would not be like their forefathers— a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.
